Bereavement is Everybody's Business

This conference is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system and anyone who is interested in being part of wider discussions about bereavement support in North & West Cumbria.

If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch with [email protected].

This conference is a chance to connect with people from a range of groups and organisations who are all interested in finding out about grief and its impact on individuals in our local communities and a call to action to make a difference.

The event will provide an opportunity to:

  • reflect on the learning from the Let's Talk Bereavement Project
  • raise awareness of different types of grief and the impact these have on people's health and well-being.
  • explore how we increase low level bereavement support in our local communities & give people permission to grieve in the way they need
  • be inspired by Dr Kathryn Mannix, the author of "Listen – How to Find the Words for Tender Conversations"

  • It would be beneficial if those wishing to attend could familiarise themselves with the project.  Click here for further info.
  • It would also help if delegates could attend at least one of the training sessions so that they can experience the learning of those who have attended and provide the feedback that has helped shape the project.  To see range of sessions and to book a place, please click here.
  • The conference will reference the UK Bereavement Commission – findings of this report can be found here.
  • Let's Talk Bereavement  – This video explores some of the emotions that we may experience along the way, there is never a ‘one size fits all’, but remember you don’t have to be alone.

Please note that tea/coffee will be available from 9.30am for a prompt 10am start. Lunch will be provided, please get in touch if you have any dietary requirements.

If you have any queries about this event or any special requirements, please get in touch.
