Improvement tools to get you started (Cohort 1)

This workshop is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system, who would like to develop their skills in service improvement (either clinical or non-clinical). If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch.

This workshop will help you to understand some basic service improvement tools and methods that will help you to make successful improvements in your practice for the benefit of patients and service users.

The Improvement System is a simple set of evidence-based steps and tools that will help you to:

  • See value and waste from the service user’s perspective
  • Define your problem and ensure you are solving the right problem
  • Understand your ‘current state’ so that you can measure whether your change is an improvement
  • Choose the right improvement intervention
  • Engage others to support you with your improvement

There will be opportunity during the workshop to share any improvements that you are working on and seek support from the rest of the group through action learning.

The session will take place via Microsoft Teams, and a link will be emailed to registered delegates a few days in advance.

If you have any queries about this event or any special requirements, please contact get in touch.

This session was previously known as 'Cumbria Improvement System Toolkit'.
