Let's Talk Bereavement - Anticipatory Grief in Children & Young People (Cohort 8)

WHO IS IT FOR?

All those whose work or personal life involves interaction with parents and/or children experiencing the death of a family member. Attendance of Supporting Grieving Children course is recommended but not essential. 


ABOUT THE SESSION

Learning Outcomes - attendees will:

  • Explore the impact of anticipatory grief on the family unit
  • Gain understanding of what parents may need in supporting children and increased confidence in offering support appropriate to their needs
  • Explore the considerations around communicating about death with a child
  • Relate theories of grief to the experiences of bereaved children/families
  • Develop their self-awareness in relation to loss, grief and bereavement and the impact of death on them as professionals
  • Consider ways to support themselves and their colleagues
  • Gain information about Child Bereavement UK, other similar support organisations and resources 

 

The session will take place via Microsoft Teams, and a link will be emailed to registered delegates a few days in advance.
