Let’s Talk Bereavement (Cohort 112)

These sessions are for anyone living, working or volunteering in North Cumbria who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of grief and feel more comfortable and confident about talking to others about death and bereavement.

These workshops are prioritised as identified through the Cumbria Bereavement Support Partnership. However, if anyone outside North Cumbria is interested in attending (particularly from South Cumbria, Lancashire and the Northeast), please contact us and you will be put on a waiting list and offered a place if there are any spare places available.

Aim: To encourage more conversations about death and bereavement.

Objective: To enable everyone in North Cumbria who needs bereavement support to be able access it and increase confidence in everyone to talk about death.

The Core Skills Training will help delegates develop an understanding of grief and gain some skills and tools to enable people to better support the bereaved and for them to be able to more effectively signpost additional sources of support.

Participants to view the YouTube video designed for the project as this provides an insight into grief: https://youtu.be/kl61ResJgsc

Post workshop resources and links to additional support and guidance will be emailed by the facilitator and tailored to the needs and interest of each group.

We are also offering 'Monthly Let's Talk Bereavement Support & Development Drop-in' sessions. These are available to attend after you have attended a 'Let's Talk Bereavement' session.
These informal sessions are an opportunity for you to share your experiences and ideas with the Let’s Talk Bereavement Project Lead. You do not need to register to the drop-ins. The Teams link is available on the events page for each session.

If you have any questions about the course itself and what is involved, please email the facilitator, Karen Dutton on: [email protected]

If you have any registration queries or special requirements, please contact [email protected]
