LUNCH & LEARN - First Contact Physiotherapy in Primary Care: Rollout, sustenance, and the future considering the ARMA report

No prior booking is required for this event.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This session is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system. If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch.

ABOUT THE SESSION

Boost, in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, are planning a series of Lunch and Learns. These are 30 minute, virtual, informal sessions that take place at lunchtime - while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing their experience of improvement work. The session is then open to anyone who has questions or reflections to offer.

Join us for this Lunch and Learn to hear from Joe Waugh (Clinical Lead First Contact Physiotherapist, Well Up North Primary Care Network, North Northumberland) on 'First Contact Physiotherapy in Primary Care: Rollout, sustenance, and the future considering the ARMA report'.

This session will outline the rollout, continuation, and the future of a Primary Care Network-employed First Contact Physiotherapy team. This service has been recognised and highlighted by the NHS confederation report, and recently contributed to the ARMA report 'ACT NOW: Musculoskeletal Health Inequalities and Deprivation'.

About our speaker...

Joe is Clinical Lead First Contact Physiotherapist at Well Up North PCN, as well as national Health Education England roadmap to practice supervisor. He is a member of the Integrated Care Board learning and improvement steering group, and formally advanced practice physiotherapist in MSK interface services and in orthopaedic clinics. Joe has an interest in population health, the impact of inequalities and deprivation on MSK health, and health promotion with extensive clinical experience in weight management, persistent pain, rheumatology, and orthopaedic services over a near 20 years of NHS experience as a physiotherapist.

The session will take place via Microsoft Teams, and will be recorded. Please click here to join this Lunch & Learn...
