No prior booking is required for this event.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This session is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system. If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch.

ABOUT THE SESSION

Boost, in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, are planning a series of Lunch and Learns. These are 30 minute, virtual, informal sessions that take place at lunchtime - while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing their experience of improvement work. The session is then open to anyone who has questions or reflections to offer.

Join us for this Lunch and Learn to hear from Professor Ahmet Fuat (GPSI Cardiology, Darlington) on 'Improving outcomes in patients with Heart Failure across Tees Valley - a Quality Improvement project'.

This session will summarise the evidence base for early diagnosis and optimal management of heart failure. Professor Fuat will describe the NHS England funded quality improvement project jointly undertaken by the Clinical Commissioning Group (now Integrated Care Board) and Oberoi Consulting to improve prevalence and then optimal medical therapy.

About our speaker...

Professor Ahmet Fuat was a GP in Darlington for 37 years, retiring in 2023. He is now a GPSI cardiology in Darlington, and honorary professor of primary care cardiology at Durham University. Professor Fuat is past president of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, and current education and research lead. Since September 2023, he has been Medical Director at Oberoi Consulting and a member of NHS England Heart Failure expert advisory group.

The session will take place via Microsoft Teams, and will be recorded. Please click here to join this Lunch & Learn...
