LUNCH & LEARN - Live Longer Better in Cumbria: Join the Revolution

No prior booking is required. Please use the following link to join this Lunch & Learn session: Please note this event will be recorded.

CLIC, in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Services, are planning a series of Lunch and Learns. These are 30 minute, virtual, informal sessions that take place at lunchtime - while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing their experience of improvement work. The session is then open to anyone who has questions or reflections to offer.

Join us for this Lunch and Learn to hear from Clare Paling (Development Officer at Active Cumbria) on 'Live Longer Better in Cumbria: Join the Revolution'.

Lead by Sir Muir Gray, a revolution is underway to enable people to live longer better, reduce the need for health and social care and reverse the effects of lockdown.

The number of people over 80 is going to increase significantly in the next ten years, but our healthy life expectancy is not expected to increase too. This has huge implications for health and social care services.  It doesn’t have to be this way. There is strong evidence that the major causes of disability and dependency can be prevented or delayed, shortening the period at the end of life when we are heavily dependent on others.

The national Live Longer Better Programme is mainly supported by Sport England’s Active Partnerships like Active Cumbria. Learn more about Live Longer Better in Cumbria at this Lunch & Learn session.
