Menopause awareness (Cohort 2)

This session is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system. If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch.

The Menopause awareness event will provide an outline of menopause, its potential impact on anyone experiencing symptoms and why this topic is important for the workplace.

We will cover the definition of menopause and how we should widen our understanding beyond middle aged women experiencing hot flushes. Some groups can experience menopause differently, we will discuss how women of colour and anyone experiencing an early menopause do not fit the ‘averages’.

The most common symptoms will be explored and some suggested ways to minimise the impact of symptoms from medical interventions to lifestyle and wellbeing choices we can use to maintain our wellbeing both at work and at home.

The NENC system wide Menopause Champions Group is now established, contact [email protected] to be added to the distribution list and continue to discussions, learning and ongoing support from peers across the system

The session will take place via Microsoft Teams, and a link will be emailed to registered delegates a few days in advance.
