Every Life Matters have teamed up with NCIC to offer Suicide Alertness Training for Health and Social Care Staff within Cumbria.
A 3.5 hour session to increase understanding around the context of suicide.
This session will help you to understand about the context of suicide, identify when someone may be at risk, how to ask directly about suicide, and what we can do to support someone and guide them to the help they need. The session forms part of the Orange Button Scheme, a way of identifying people who have undertaken suicide prevention training and have the confidence to talk to others about suicide.
To book onto this session, please visit the Eventbrite registration page here: Suicide Alertness Training. For Health & Social Care Staff within Cumbria. Tickets, Wed 5 Jul 2023 at 13:00 | Eventbrite
Suicide is a sensitive subject. We ask that participants identify a suitable person to talk with either during or after the training should the need arise. If you don't have a trusted person you can contact the Samaritans on 116123 if needed.
By signing up to this session you agree for your contact details to be shared with Every Life Matters, in order to keep a record of individuals who have completed the training.
NCIC Health and Wellbeing will send out any pre-work to be viewed/completed.

“The delivery of the training was very considered: such an emotive subject could easily have been distressing, but it was handled compassionately, but objectively, which allowed us to feel better informed.”
“I now know more about the signs to look out for and feel more confident in asking someone if they are ok.”
