Let's Talk Bereavement - Virtual Reflective Café - Anticipatory Grief Peer Support (not counselling) (Cohort 4)

WHO IS IT FOR?

This session is suitable for all staff and volunteers across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system. If you have any queries about your eligibility to attend, please get in touch.

ABOUT THE SESSION

During the Let's Talk Bereavement project it has become very clear that anticipatory grief is being experienced by many people and often without them realising.

Anticipatory grief can be very intense and lead to physical and mental health concerns. When people realise that what they are experiencing is normal in their situation they can start to understand it. Being able to talk about their feelings and emotions or just listening to the experience of others and realising that they are not alone can make a considerable difference.

The virtual café is an informal space where people can meet with others to share and support each other through this often unrecognised intense grief. Karen Dutton, the Let's Talk Bereavement Project Lead will facilitate the session and signpost people if additional support is needed.
